Day 272 of my reign as the All American Quarter Horse Congress Queen proved to be very special. Aside from celebrating my birthday at the Little Buckeye in the morning, I got to attend the largest fundraiser for Nellie’s Catwalk for Kids (NC4K), a nonprofit that helps make life a little easier for kids and teens with cancer. Back in December at the NC4K Christmas Party, I met 8-year-old Faith Amato, who at the time was still receiving cancer treatment. She told me about her love for horses, but that she was not allowed to be around them because of her treatment. What an honor it was when a few months later, Faith asked me to walk the runway with her at the NC4K Fashion Show. I could not have asked for a better birthday gift. Each person in the NC4K Fashion Show raises money to help pediatric cancer patients. Prior to the show, Faith and I had some fun being silly in the photo booth and then we put on our cowboy boots and gold apparel to prepare for the runway! We practiced our modeling routine and then it was time. The crowd was going crazy. It was a blessing to get to walk with Faith and it was definitely a moment I will never forget! Thank you to everyone who was there to help support the cause! A special thank you to Faith for allowing me to be part of your moment!
