Meet Your 2024 Congress Queen, Madison Heilveil!
Madison REPRESENTED THE Tri-State QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION TO A WINNING TITLe
Miss Madison Heilveil was crowned the All American Quarter Horse Congress Queen 2024 on October 11, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in the new Congress Marketplace. She is the 56th All American Quarter Horse Congress Queen. Madison Heilveil is from Bellefonte, PA and is the daughter of Keith Heilveil and Tami Abonyi. She found her love for the Quarter Horse at the age of six and couldn’t imagine her life without them.
Madison joined 4H when she was twelve where she discovered her passion for knowledge and education. Throughout her years in 4H, she competed at the Quarter Horse Congress placing in the top ten multiple times in Horse Bowl and Hippology. In 2015, she was the High Overall Individual in Horse Bowl. While in college, she enjoyed the evaluation and communication skills gained through Competitive Horse Judging. With each visit to the Congress, her love for the largest single-breed horse show in the world grew. Madison originally began showing in the USEF Over Fences classes with her horse, Highlanders Lil Bro “Baron”, but eventually transitioned to AQHA as showmanship and hunt seat equitation became her favorite classes. In the future, she looks forward to venturing into all-around events with her new partner, PSU Hadme From Hello “Doll”.
Madison graduated in 2021 from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Animal Science and Business Management. This May, she also earned her Master of Agriculture in Agriculture Leadership from Oklahoma State University. Currently, she works for the Department of Animal Science at Penn State as an Academic Adviser. Madison was inspired to compete to be the All-American Quarter Horse Congress Queen as an opportunity to be an advocate for not only the American Quarter Horse, but also the All-American Quarter Horse Congress, which is her “happy place”. When she began serving as the Tri-State Quarter Horse Association Queen, she did not have a show horse but wanted to use her passion for education as inspiration at the horse shows. Her favorite portion of the contest to prepare for was the written exam, as it paired so well with her platform “Knowledge is Power” . Her goal is to encourage AQHA members to understand the importance of reading the AQHA Rulebook, not only to be the most successful in the show ring, but understand all that goes into supporting the versatility of the American Quarter Horse.
During her reign as the official representative of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association, and the Quarter Horse Congress, Madison will travel from state to state presenting awards and helping to fulfill the dreams of so many along the way! She wishes everyone a wonderful year of horse showing and hopes to see you in the Winners Circle!
